Benchmark No. 8 Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Benchmark Bourbon is currently produced as part of Buffalo Trace’s extensive range - but it wasn’t always. The brand was launched in the 1960s not by Buffalo Trace but by Seagram’s. They produced it until 1992, when Seagram’s sold the brand to Sazerac. Interestingly, it was at this point that benchmark received an addition to its name - it was now called McAfee’s Benchmark, named after the McAfee brothers whom were settlers in the late 1700s and called an area near where Buffalo Trace stands today their home. The core expression of Benchmark is the No.8 Bourbon, made with the same mashbill as a number of other Buffalo Trace whiskeys.
