Alluring raspberry, blackcurrant and plum aromas with hints of pine nettle and fresh coriander. Polished, silky tannins unfold on the palate with flavours of cranberry and dark chocolate.
WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES: Pure, dark black currant and plum aromas combined with cedar wood and graphite nuances. Abundant fresh blueberry and boysenberry flavours with lavish, fine textured tannins and a lingering aftertaste. Recommended with a Braised Karoo Lamb Shoulder with a Fynbos Jus. Candied Beetroot and Wild Herb Salad with a Pine Nut Pesto. 2015 HARVEST: The grapes were hand-picked from beginning February to end March 2015. VINICULTURE: Fermented in Stainless tanks with extended skin contact. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels. VITICULTURE Cultivar: Merlot 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Cabernet Franc 10% Appellation: Wine of Origin Western Cape Age of Vines: 12 to 22 years Irrigation: Drip irrigation MATURATION Matured for 17 months in 300 litre French oak barrels.
